ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - 15th of October – A delegation of three Brunei dignitaries were invited by the U.I.M. F1 Promoter to come to Shenzhen, China this week to discuss the possibility of holding a U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship event in the country in the near future with series promoter Nicolo di San Germano during the upcoming 11th Grand Prix of China this weekend on the 17th and 18th of October.
The U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship tour is an internationally acclaimed series that encompasses races throughout eight different times zones in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, with drivers from typically 12 different countries on four different continents participating at each Grand Prix event.
The 29 year history of the sport has shown the world that only the most skilled of drivers can race these catamaran five meter boats powered by V6 outboard engines capable of over 400 horsepower reaching speeds of 220 kilometers per hour while turning up to six times the drivers weight in the corners.
Each Grand Prix has a worldwide following with live television being broadcast to hundreds of millions of homes throughout the world as well as live video streaming of each race available to millions more by logging onto the official series website www.f1h2o.com .
The current World Champion is Jay Price of the Qatar Team who currently sits third in the drivers table at the halfway mark after eight of the scheduled 16 races that make up the 2009 U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship calendar. Jonas Andersson of Sweden leads the championship with 89 points and three victories thus far into the season.
