ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Friday, October 30, 2009 – German driver Fabian Kalsow continues to be one of the hardest working drivers on the U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship Tour when not racing as he continues to promote his racing career through his sponsors and partners at one of Europe’s largest boat shows in Hamburg, Germany.
The 28 year-old driver from Neustadt, arrived at the Hamburg Boat Show hi-lighting his two seat promotional boat used for V.I.P. and press outings representing his place in the current 2009 F1 World Championship where he sits tied for 12th with 21 points. He is coming off his best performance of his career with a fine fourth place at the 10th race of the championship ten days ago at the 11th Grand Prix of China in Shenzhen.
“We are still on a high after our result in Shenzhen,” said Fabian. “We couldn’t be more pleased for our sponsors including Baltic Kolln Fehmarn und Heiligenhafen, Yachtkontor Fehmarn Firmengruppe Seelaff and Boote Magazine which is Europe’s largest boating industry magazine. They’ve been all great and have helped me race in my China CTIC Team during my 2009 season that still has six races to be run ending in Mid-December in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.”
The youngest driver on the F1 tour has come a long way with the help of the ADAC automobile club of Germany where he first started racing in 2000 in the S550 class at Brodenbach. Fabian would go on to win the title in 2003.
This season Fabian has four straight top-10 finishes and six this season. He has 20 total career F1 starts and has finished all twenty without any mechanical problems or mishaps that would have taken him out of a race. He hopes his streak of 20 straight only continues when the U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship heads for Doha in Qatar for back to back Grand Prix’s on the 27th and 28th of November.
Swedish driver Jonas Andersson of Team Azerbaijan leads the championship with two victories and five top-3 podium positions for 92 points thus far. Thani Al Qamzi of Team Abu Dhabi sponsored by Abu Dhabi Tourism is second with 88 points while Sami Selio of Finland sponsored by Mad Croc is third with 83 points.
Both Grand Prix’s can be followed live by going to the www.f1h2O.com website.
