ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – Friday, August 21, 2009 -- One of the hardest working drivers on the U.I.M. F1 H2O World Championship tour when it comes to promoting his race team is Fabian Kalsow who again in front of thousands of fans recently put on a two day show in his hometown of Neustadt in Germany.
The 27 year-old had one of the biggest two seater events in the history of the sport when he attracted thousands of spectators to the Seventh “Formula 1 Powerboat Promotion Event” in Germany this year. It was a long two days for the one time German S550 champion but very worthwhile at the same time as he put in over 150 laps in his specially modified two seat Molgaard F1 boat used for promotional events.
“We put on a marvelous show on the edge of the Baltic Sea,” said Fabian. “We just finished another event last weekend in Berlin and it was just as big. The exciting part was having my friend and teammate with the China CTIC F1 Team Pierre Lundin of Sweden along with me. We also attended the Formula 4 S World Championship as well and it was a weekend to remember. You can never quit promoting yourself or your sport. The people came out in great numbers and with their enthusiasm it once again showed how hungry they are to get another Grand Prix back in Germany someday.”
During the past winter Fabian stayed busy taking his boat to the numerous boat shows throughout Europe and plans to do the same again this off season in 2010 after the final event weekend on the ninth and 10th of December in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
“We are already lining up dates that will take us through the ‘frozen water’ months of the calendar as we continue to show why F1 powerboat racing is the most exciting sport in the world and the average race fan can get a chance to feel the excitement the driver feels only through our two-seater experience,” stated Fabian.
The German who comes from the Eastern part of the country, is currently 18th in the drivers championship this season after picking up a ninth place at the recent Grand Prix of Russia in St. Petersburg back on the eighth of August. Fabian has a pair of top-10 finishes and plans on adding to that at the next venue scheduled for the sixth and seventh of October at the Grand Prix of China in the lovely city of Liuzhou.
